Welcome to Private Breathwork
Breathwork refers to various techniques that involve conscious control and manipulation of breathing patterns for the purpose of enhancing physical, mental, and emotional well-being. These techniques often focus on deep, intentional breathing to facilitate relaxation, stress reduction, and increased self-awareness.
As Britta is working towards her breath work certification, these sessions are offered at no charge for a limited time.
This is very deep healing work. Please review all the information on this page to make sure breath work is a good fit for you before registering. The diagrams below demonstrate the ideal breath work position and requirements:
Unlocking the Power of Breath: 5 Transformative Benefits
- Improved Lung Function and Respiratory Efficiency: Breathwork practices, such as diaphragmatic breathing and pranayama, enhance lung capacity and strengthen respiratory muscles, leading to better oxygenation and overall respiratory health.
- Reduced Stress and Anxiety: Breathwork activates the parasympathetic nervous system, promoting relaxation and reducing the production of stress hormones like cortisol. This results in lower levels of anxiety and an improved ability to manage stress.
- Enhanced Mental Clarity and Focus: By increasing oxygen flow to the brain, breathwork can improve cognitive function, mental clarity, and focus. Techniques like alternate nostril breathing (Nadi Shodhana) are particularly effective for balancing brain hemispheres and boosting concentration.
- Improved Cardiovascular Health: Regular breathwork can lower blood pressure, improve heart rate variability, and enhance overall cardiovascular health. Techniques such as slow, deep breathing can reduce the workload on the heart and improve circulation.
- Boosted Immune System: Breathwork can enhance the immune response by reducing stress and inflammation in the body. Practices like Wim Hof Method, which combines breathwork with cold exposure, have been shown to improve the body’s resilience to infections and boost overall immune function.
What You'll Need
In order to participate in Britta’s group Breathwork Journey, you will need the following:
- A mat to lie on the floor/ground. Do NOT lie on a bed or couch.
- Eye mask or towel for blocking out visual stimulation. This is optional but HIGHLY encouraged.
- Headphones for listening to Britta during the meditation. This is optional but HIGHLY encouraged so that you can clearly hear Britta at all times. Britta recommends an over-the-ear type of headphone like this.
- Two to two and a half hours of time, uninterrupted and distraction-free.
- A notebook/paper and pen nearby to journal profound wisdom after the breathwork journey.
- Tissue/Kleenex. Breath work can be an emotionally releasing experience so it’s nice to have tissues nearby.
